Our Pre-K is open to children from ages 2 to 5. Each day, children get to hear stories from the Bible, sing worship songs, and build a love for God.
St. John's is a Christ-centered school that teaches our students about God. Children get to hear stories from the Bible, sing worship songs, and build a love for God. We follow a Lutheran-based religion curriculum that teaches our students about God's everlasting love for us and how He created us all differently, but still loves us all the same.
We focus on two major goals during early childhood education to help children achieve autonomy and self-control.
We also seek to develop children's understanding of the physical characteristics of objects in their world.
The teacher's role in St John's Pre-K program, is to serve as a guide, a resource, and a facilitator for the child. The teacher facilitates a child-centered environment by initiating activities and projects for children which are developmentally appropriate, purposeful, meaningful, and foster learning through self-selected play. Children will learn best through a process of discovery, enabling them to build theories about how their world operates.
